Fresh off the red-eye from San Diego, I can say with certainty; I
miss California! Each time I visit, I’m renewed with a sense of TOTAL
well-being, and wonder why I don’t just move out there…
This sweet vibe encompasses the beautiful weather, the happy people,
the breathtaking sunsets AND the gorgeous music that California gave
us! Laurel Canyon is where that particular vibe started. The Eagles, Linda
Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, and Jackson Browne… We all have a favorite
or ten(!) from this gang….
But, what if you’re a fan stuck in the Northeast?
The answer: a fabulous cover band called “Running on Empty.” Multiple
immensely gifted musicians, including the wonderful Arlen Roth on
guitar, and a blend of superior male and female vocalists, that
harmonize as well as JB or even The Eagles!
I recently had the pleasure of emceeing a charity concert, for MusiciansLifeline.org starring “Running on Empty.” Remember THAT VIBE I referred to earlier? It was EVERYWHERE that night. Not just from “ROE,” but from the entire audience! Everyone singing along. Pure contentment, pure joy!
I feel destined to introduce this band again, and will certainly let
you know, across social media, when!
You can also follow “Running on Empty” on Facebook.
Here’s to bringing that “Laurel Canyon vibe” to Connecticut!
